Tang Hon Yin
B. 1943, Penang, Malaysia.

Tang Hon Yin graduated from University Malaya in 1967 and completed his Diploma in Education in1968. Despite the external constraints, he became a self-taught artist who works with air brush and acrylic. His works are as expressive as they are figurative. While some see bird’s eye view of Earth terrain and sea surface, others relate to the tranquility and meditativeness the paintings educe. His imagery reflects the way he sees the world, with optimism and hope.

His works were featured In “Masterpieces From The National Art Gallery Of Malaysia” (Published by National Art Gallery, Malaysia, 2002). Penang State Art Gallery has also held a retrospective exhibition for him (Penang, Malaysia, 2018).

Currently, Hon Yin lives and works in Penang, Malaysia.
